How to find what your audience is looking for. Hint: It’s not in YOUR data.

Seems everybody has a media platform these days. You can’t even put gas in your car without a screen delivering a short message. Telcos are scrambling to cash in on the streaming revolution, and brands are creating their own platforms. And all that is in addition to the behemoths of media that are big enough to charge subscription fees: Disney+, Netflix, Peacock. Streaming entertainment is here, and while every brand and platform and pipeline want a piece of the revenue, it is a highly competitive space being overrun with entrepreneurs at a land rush.

As each platform charges into the west with their wagonload of content, selling their wares from the tailgate they are creating more barriers for themselves than they realize. The key to their success is to see the industry as a whole and create co-ops of data that benefit each land-grabber.

This is where Media scientists emerge. Just like the general store popped up across the west to sell picks and shovels and plows to everybody in town, the media scientist collects data from every platform, cleans up siloed data, aggregates audience data from different sources and creates predictive analytics that are much more robust than can be achieved by one source alone. Word spread fast around the cracker barrels in frontier towns: where fertile valleys were, where gold could be found. This shared information built up communities and everybody benefitted. Publisher Arts is the ear on the industry, tracking audience viewing trends from multiple sources and aggregating it with the proprietary data from each platform we work with. In this way, you get a more complete picture of where you are, and where your audience wants you to be.

Finding gold is more than relying on just your own maps. It’s about an overhead view of everybody’s maps and finding the gold most accessible to you.

Publisher Arts is a global effort to collect, clean, and aggregate audience data while providing each of our clients with specific roadmaps to personalize their offerings.
